Integral Deep Listening (IDL) defines egocentrism as “psychological geocentrism,” a Ptolemaic worldview based on naïve sensory realism and our emotional identification with our moment-to-moment experience. Almost all approaches to dreaming, dream yoga, and lucid dreaming interpret from the perspective of waking identity. What do WE experience? What do WE think? What do WE feel?
IDL takes a phenomenological approach, surfacing and tabling assumptions, setting aside our interpretations and experience in order to become and embody the perspective, experience, thoughts, and feelings of the interviewed other.
