About IDL Sanghas
In IDL, we cultivate two complementary communities, each called a sangha (Buddhist for “sacred community”):
- Human Sangha: Fellow students of IDL and those who have participated in interviews. This community supports learning, accountability, and feedback in real-life practice.
- Perspectival Sangha: The many perspectives interviewed, including dream elements, historical figures, archetypes, and transpersonal aspects. These provide guidance, reframing, and support in specific life circumstances.
Maintaining connection to both sanghas strengthens micro-learning, perspective literacy, and alignment with evolutionary emergence.
Keeping a Record of Interviews
It is essential to document each interview for ongoing practice:
- Who or what was interviewed (perspective)
- Primary recommendation or insight
- Suggested circumstances for application
- Date or context of the interview
Example of a simple table for maintaining interview records:
| Perspective | Recommendation / Insight | Application Context | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frustration (self) | “Become me when you get frustrated” | During work conflicts or interpersonal tension | 2026-01-25 |
| Sleep Anxiety | “Invite calm observation before reacting” | Before bedtime or during sleepless nights | 2026-01-20 |
| Nature Archetype (tree) | “Stand rooted and listen” | Decision-making, feeling ungrounded | 2026-01-22 |
Community Practices
IDL community practices encourage active engagement with both sanghas:
- Sharing insights from interviews with the human sangha to maintain accountability.
- Logging and revisiting perspectival recommendations for consistent application in waking life.
- Collaborating in workshops and discussion forums to explore evolving perspectives.
- Tracking recurring patterns to refine personal and systemic learning loops.
